Legend of Hero Tonma (レジェンド・オブ・ヒーロー・トンマ) is a side scrolling platform game released by Irem to arcades in 1989.
The player controls a caped hero named Tommy in his quest to rescue a princess. Tommy can cast fireballs (which can be upgraded in power) to dispatch enemies, and jump on their heads to temporarily stun them.
The arcade game was later ported to the PC-Engine in 1991 and the home console's overseas equivalent, TurboGrafx-16 in 1993. The latter version was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in North America on September 24, 2007 (delisted on March 30, 2012; returning in September 2013), and in PAL regions on September 28, 2007. The PC-Engine (JP) version has 1991 printed on the card, while the TurboGrafx-16 (U.S.) version has 1993 printed on the card. Due to this late printing at the end of the system's life, the U.S. version is quite rare.Released

Description
A little caped hero called Tommy must fight his way to the boss' castle through a cute world to rescue a princess, but stopping him from his rescue mission will be several enemies, which he has to deal with by launching little fireballs at them. Tommy may also jump on their heads to stun them for a moment.
Getting power-ups will make the fireball soon increase to a bouncing fireball, which will deal more damage to enemies. Treasure chests can be busted open, allowing Tommy to collect coins. Tommy's journey will have him explore ruins, cliffs, statues, dungeons, and finally the castle. At the end of each level, there is a boss that must be defeated in order to proceed to the next stage.
