Description

Gunbuster is a first-person shooter, combining joysticks to move and light guns to shoot. The game has a dual monitor setup with 4 mounted light guns, allowing for single or two player coop games, as well as 2 player vs 2 player team battles. Players can select one of four cyborgs, each with a different special weapon; mine, laser, fire or spark.

The story from the intro: It was the year 2160. Agalta City, no longer able to cope with the raging crime committed by cyborgs, offered rewards for the offenders and introduced an organization of hunters. Time passed and humanity began to call these hunters, "Gunbusters."

In single or two player mode, players have to shoot their way through 8 missions in total. Each stage starts with the middle man, called "Sourcer", giving you information about the target and showing a map of the level layout.

The stages take place inside an elevator, chasing on the city streets, inside an apartment building, machinery rooms, open waters near a cruise ship, inside a cyborg factory, and the final stage in a psychedelic mainframe basement. The order of first three stages is fixed, after that the middle man offers two targets and the player can choose which one to take on first.
