Description

Mobile Suit Gundam is a Street Fighter II-style fighting game based on the original 1979 television series of the franchise.

Players can select from 10 mobile suits: these include the Federation's Gundam, Zeon's Zaku, Gouf, Dom and Gelgoog, and the amphibious Zugock (sic). The remaining are variations: a Gundam piloted by Sayla Mass instead of Amuro Ray, and red-painted Zaku, Zugock or Gelgoog piloted by 'Red Comet' Char Aznable. Each suit has its own arena, all based on locations from the TV series, often with a lot of action going on in the background.

Single-player mode consists of consecutive fights against the nine other suits, plus a final battle against a surprise enemy. Two players can match up in two-player mode, but cannot select the same suit.

Fights are time-limited best-of-three bouts. The suits are controlled via joystick and two buttons, one for a light, one for a heavy attack. All suits are equipped with some kind of ranged weapon, activated through suit-specific input combinations.
